Match Bar & Grill is a world-class bar, dining rooms, lounge and deck right in the heart of Melbourne. There’s nowhere else like it. Our mission is to deliver fantastic food, brilliant drinks, exciting new music, friendly, efficient service and a cracking good time in one of the coolest cities on the planet.

Located on the corner of Swanston St and Lt Lonsdale St in the heart of Melbourne`s CBD. The dining room has a contemporary feel, leather booth seats are surrounded by warm 1970s lighting and retro designs. The menu focuses on simple, top quality seasonal produce, cooked to perfection. Head Chef, Ben Isaacs was classically trained in a Michelin starred restaurant, he cooks true to the Match philosophy to create an unpretentious, produce driven menu, focusing on local ingredients and showcasing the finest beef in Australia. Match Bar & Grill is one of the city’s best restaurants for steak, along with an excellent selection of grills, seafood and shared plates. Ben also likes to get creative with daily and weekly specials so make sure you ask your waiter what`s on the chefs specials. Top all of this off with a show stopping view over the State Library and basically you`re in for an experience to remember in a place where the atmosphere is second to none.

Move through to the bar at Match and you will find a more retro feel with big leather couches and a great sound system playing the best in new music. Outside there`s a glorious wooden decked terrace, the heating provide a toasty time and the booth seats are the best spot in the house. The cocktails are the best in Melbourne (we didn`t win that award for nothing!) and the selection of beers, wines and spirits is second to none.

In addition to our main drinks list, we also offer 20 wines by the glass and most of these are help-yourself from our Enomatic wine samplers. The Enomatics keep the wine in perfect condition and there`s always something interesting to drink. Simply charge up a wine card and try DIY sampling of some rare, unusual, expensive and interesting wines normally only available to buy by the bottle. Our samplers allow you to taste, compare, contrast, discuss and decide on your favourite style, variety, region and/or country. What’s the most delicious New Zealand Pinot Noir of the moment?
